Despite the many podiums she has graced, BÁRBARA COMPANY ESPEJO considers scaling the summit of the volcano Rinjani in Indonesia while on holiday as her biggest feat. Running the 36 km-long and 3700m high course, she conquered the biting-cold altitude with no equipment and in her summer clothes, proving that any accomplishment was a question of mind over matter.

An accidental athlete – she started doing obstacle courses in 2017 on a whim with no prior training – her natural talent has enabled her to earn a place amongst the top 10 in all GCC races and qualify for the Spartan Race World Championship. Espejo credits her crew of fellow female runners for fueling her passion, driving her to the finish line and making it all fun.
